Sergio Vieira de Mello - The Legacy of a Brazilian Hero
16 years since the bomb attack against the UN headquarters in Baghdad. 22 fatalities, including Sergio Vieira de Mello, who was confirmed to be Al-Qaeda's primary target in this attack. As the first Brazilian to reach the high ranks of the UN, Sergio served as a UN negotiator in major global conflicts across locations such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lebanon, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Rwanda, and East Timor. In doing so, he saved, protected, and repatriated millions of people throughout the missions in which he served.
